The 15 acre derby field has 900 meters of track already cleared, graded and seeded in preparation for installing the water complex (funded by the Northwest Region Pony Clubs) and ditch/bank obstacles next summer. This derby are will host the West Coast Pony Club Championships in August after which it will be available for cross country schooling, combined driving and derby/hunter pace events.
In addition, work is expected to begin in spring 2012 to build the competition course to host Horse Trials and Combined Driving events in an
adjacent 105 acres of conservation land. John Williams has designed courses from Beginner Novice through Intermediate that work perfectly with the terrain and wonderful sandy footing. Equestrians Institute is planning to hold a recognized Horse Trial in 2013 through Preliminary level.
