Horse Park Facilities
As a show
and competition venue, the Horse Park will accommodate one or more small
to moderate sized events at a time, or a large event. This would
include, for example, regional Arabian and Quarter Horse shows, the
North American Young Riders’ program and World Cup competitions, and
much more. The overall site will be large enough to accommodate 4
hunter/jumper courses or 6 standard dressage arenas.

The 112 acres being donated by Suncadia
are depicted by the solid boundary line around the parcel at the
southern/bottom edge of the map. (It looks a bit like a paddock boot
with a spur - toe on the left, heel on the right. The layout and
structures were drawn by Suncadia's design planner and are simply for
illustration purposes). The dotted lines represent trails connecting the
Horse Park site to other trails and riding areas. The solid
boundary to the west/left represents roughly 75 acres in a conservation
area which the Horse Park will be able to use several times during the
season for the endurance phases of eventing and combined driving
competitions.
Once the
Horse Park is built out, facilities will include:
-
a 200’x 300’ indoor arena with seating for more than 1000
-
several outdoor arenas
-
warm-up areas
-
a large open, flat, multi-use field
-
400 permanent stalls
-
livestock holding areas
-
cross-country eventing and combined driving courses on adjacent 75 acres
-
connections to the Coal Mine Trail and John Wayne Trail systems
-
RV and trailer parking with pull through and hook-ups
-
and much more!
The
Horse Park already has connections to roads, water, sewer and electricity. The facilities will be constructed in phases to control costs and better match capacity to increasing levels of utilization.
Architectural and landscape development will conform with the Cascade mountain style characterized by sloping roofs, generous overhangs, and use of wood, stone and heavy timber.
